Thank you to Power NI, your help is much appreciated! ❤️ 🐾

Our Brighter Communities initiative recently awarded The Barn Animal Rescue Newtownards £1,000 funding, which the charity will put towards advancing animal welfare 🐾.

Founded in 2016 by husband and wife, Glenn and Joanne, BARN Animal Rescue was established to rescue, rehabilitate, and shelter companion animals who have become abandoned or unwanted.

At the rescue centre based in Carrowdore, County Down, the charity cares for rescued cats and dogs, with the aim of finding the animals their forever home where possible 🏠.

Working with a base of approximately 20 volunteers, the organisation also runs two charity shops, one in Newtownards and one in Ballywalter 📍, with all funds and donations going directly to improving its services and helping the animals.

We’re proud to play a part in ensuring that the team at BARN Animal Rescue can provide such necessary care and shelter for cats and dogs 🐈🐕. The sanctuary offers an essential service in rehoming and rehabilitating animals across the country, and we’re delighted to provide this funding, which will go directly to improving the welfare of animals in BARN Animal Rescue’s care.

If you’re part of a local community group or charity, our August Brighter Communities fund is open now. Apply now here:
